I love nothing better than waking up before the rest of the family, and enjoying a pot of coffee whilst scrolling the overnight Instagram stories. Its even better when its fashion week, and whether that's New York, Paris, Milan or London I can't get enough of the catwalks and the street style.
After New York, it's been London Fashion Week this week, and as always its the most eclectic of all the fashion weeks in my opinion. Although the nearest I will get to the actual catwalk (and the clothes) is on Insta Stories, there are a number of AW18 trends coming through you can already embrace either in your existing wardrobe with some new combos or on the high street.

The Burberry rainbow
It was Christopher Bailey's final show as head of Burberry, and he chose this to support LBGT charities with his rainbow collection, including a rainbow twist on the favourite Burberry check.
As the finale pounded to the sounds of eighties club classics, under a halo of neon rainbow lights, his swan-song was a celebration of colour and diversity.

My favourite were the rainbow sneakers, but if you don't have the £500 or so to order the real deal, you can support the LGBT movement with these Stonewall laces on your own pair.
Colour Combos

It wasn't just Burberry getting into the rainbow, colour is everywhere on the AW18 Fashion Week catwalks.
A New York Fashion Week fave was Prabal Gurung's riot of jewel colours, mixed together to create a brand new palette for our wardrobes this year.
The biggest takeway for me (as someone who notoriously avoids colour) is that blending two colours you wouldn't expect to match can actually soften the eye-watering impact and create something really fresh, subtle and new.
I'm already seeking out combinations of navy and purple, scarlet and cerise pink, yellow and camel on my closet rails - worn together with mixed textures and neutral shoes and accessories they form a brand new look.

Pretty Punk

Simone Rocha is the one collection I always look out for at LFW, and AW18 was an edwardian lady meets punk collab of lace and suiting in hues of black, grey and cream.
The Victoriana cream lace blouses we all have in our wardrobe will live on this year, teamed with a nipped in black jacket, and I loved the combination of slim trousers under lacy dress, under fitted blazer.
Her collection was punctuated with little black bows, an easy hack to update any black coat, blazer or dress this year.

The dropped waist dress

Midi dresses are a W&W favourite but often the high street avoids this length in favour of short or even worse knee-length styles (except for H&M all hail your midi dress commitment!).
NYFW and LFW showed a lot of dropped waist midi dresses for AW18, a style that's both flattering and comfortable.
H & M has a great selection including this really wearable dress.
The jumper scarf?

Who else spotted the styling of a sweater as scarf on some of the AW18 catwalks? I remember wearing one in my school days, so I don't think I'll be going back there in a hurry. I'd be keen to see anyone making it work though - share with W&W on Instagram if you dare!
