Summer dreams..
This week’s wishlist comes hot off our Spring Summer 18 planning day, so my head is in the clouds and I’m imagining toes curled in a sandy beach and warmer balmy nights.
Thankfully I don’t have too long to wait with a long haul trip planned for February, where I’ll be shooting some of our SS18 stock. But for now, here’s our weekly WishList to take your mind off this dreary winter.
This one can work all year round, but my love of loose shirts has been cultivated since the 1980s. Loose over jeans, under a big sweater, tucked into skinnies or draped over a swimsuit for an elegant beach cover up. This shirt is perfect for all occasions.
We’ve shared our love for Aveeno skincare before, but this spray on body moisturiser has been a revelation to me. With no patience for rubbing in body balm, I can just simply spray myself after a bath and I’m good to go for 24hours. Great for getting those winter legs out for skirt season.
Not one for adventurous makeup usually, being on holiday is different and I like to pick something with more colour so this waterproof super colour blue eyeliner by Kiko will definitely be thrown in my bag – certain to work with a bare face and healthy glow for evenings.
I love the look of crumpled bed linen, and this range by H&M Home is perfect all year round, although has a certain spring/summer vibe to it. I had a lilac bedroom as a child, so this is the colour I’ll pick - although the greys and baby pink are also tempting.
Lebanese foods just conjure up summer, and even in winter one of my favourite easy suppers is grilled chicken and Fattoush. As its made with iceberg lettuce and cucumber, it can be rustled up quickly as they keep well in the fridge. Chopped pitta squares sprinkled on top add a bit of bite – great for workday lunches too.
I always have a book in my bag when I know I’m travelling, as planes and trains bore me to tears. Hannah has recommended A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara but be warned it’s a tear-jerker so make sure you have your sunnies to hide behind.
Easy listening is my music vibe so I’m building a trip playlist for the plane and the beach that will switch off my woes and relax my bones. Michael Kiwanuka’s album Love & Hate will definitely be on there because its my most played album at home just now, but Agnes Obel will join him - I found her on the Big Little Lies soundtrack of which Michael sings the title song.
Have a great weekend
